I am Rene Shukla. I am seventeen and I am from India. I am currently studying at IMG Academy as a Senior. I am also a heptathlete with a PR of 3930 points, I stood 8th in my country at the last national games (36th National Games of India). My Indoor pentathlon PR is 2730 points. I have been doing track and field for the past 4 years. Ever since I started track and field, I have always aspired to be an Olympian and I have always wanted to represent my country and make her proud.
I am a very respectful, punctual, positive, hardworking, and dedicated athlete. My coaches say that, I am normally the first person to reach practice and I am the last person to leave practice. For me, that is just a mere reflection of how much I love the sport. I believe passion, quick grasping, and mental strength to be my greatest assets. My coaches have always told me I am a very coachable athlete. I can make my own training plan as well using the block periodization model of World Athletics. In me, you will find one of the hardest-working recruits be it on track or classroom.
I work hard year-round on track and field. I have used the whole year to work on different events. I have been seeing constant improvements in my PRs in all the events. I am working on my specific skill sets. I have also been working on my strength and power by doing lifts 3 times a week. I like all my seven events, but my current favorites are sprints and long jump.
In classroom, at IMG, I study hard and I am consistently maintaining good grades. In academics my favorite subjects are math and biology, in these two subjects, my educators consider me to be at advanced level.
I make friends quickly and am a team player. I love to go hiking on Himalayas and have conquered 14000 feet elevation mountain pass- Indrahaar pass. Playing tennis, swimming and dancing are some of my other hobbies. I love dogs!
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the track. I want to find the right college for me that can help prepare me for the highest level of excellence and help me discover the best version of myself. I hope to be a great role model for the college, and I believe I will be the best fit for your college.
