Hi, my name is Sarah, and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am 18 years old, and am finishing up my final year of highschool at Harvest Community School. I found my passion for track in the eighth grade, and I've been racing on varsity ever since. I was awarded the "Spirit of a Warrior" award my freshman year, and was voted to receive the "Discipline Pillar" award my sophomore year. My school competes in 1A. I've trained in addition to regular school practices with some of the coaches at Jacksonville Athletic Club, and am continuing to compete with them for their 2019 club season. I used to play volleyball as well, in fact I played for five years. However, my desire to have success in track has lead me to leave the sport behind me to train year round for my final season as a highschooler. My greatest track achievement I would say is competing at Florida High School States 2019 for the 4x100m relay.
My work ethic in track is also reflected in my academics. I currently maintain a 4.1 GPA, dual enroll, and am in the process of taking an AP class as well. I am also a current member of the National Honors Society. I know I would like to study a major in Music, so I can sing after college. I sing for Youth Quake Live, my church, and have performed along with One Body United on August 23rd, 2019.
There are many athletes, like me, trying to get exposure so that they may compete at the next level. However, I believe I am a worthy candidate because of my work ethic. I may not have the fastest times yet, but I haven't given up and I know that I'm not done yet. This is because I know that pushing myself may not always lead to success, but it will never result in regret.
