2022 SpotlightPersonal Statement
Jumps are my specialty with a HJ PR of 5'-5” and LJ PR of 5.87m. I am a versatile athlete and competed in my first Heptathlon (3866 points). I am the new school record holder for 100mH 14.96 sec. My current District rankings are 100mH (2nd), 100m (2nd), 200m (3rd), 400m (1st), HJ (1st), and LJ (2nd).
I started as a competitive gymnast (former State Vault Champion), then grew to 5’-9”, before finding my way to track. My gymnastics training has helped me quickly understand speed, body position and lift. I have been a lifelong endurance athlete, and those around me say I’m very coachable. My near-term goal is to break my school’s record for high jump, long jump, and hurdles. My long-term goal is to be part of a team where I can contribute and perform my best, while achieving my dream of becoming a physical therapist.
