I strive daily to be the best student-athlete I can be. Academics are one of my top priorities; as such, I attend an out of district school that offers the International Baccalaureate program. I have a weighted GPA of 4.6979 (unweighted 4.0) and will continue to pursue excellence in the classroom and on the track.
Prior to high school, I was a club soccer player. I didn't realize my passion for running until I tried out for the track team during my freshman year. After practice, I quickly knew running was what I was meant to do. I had a very successful rookie season that exceeded my expectations. I earned the opportunity to compete in the 400m, 800m, 4x400m and 4x800m relays, had the honor of representing my team in the 400m at districts, and qualified for regionals with the 4x400m team in one of the toughest districts/regions in Florida. I earned a varsity letter and received the "Middle Distance Sprinter of the Year" award for my team.
In my sophomore season, I ran the 300m hurdles and the 4x400m and 4x800m relays and earned the opportunity to run both relay events at the State Championships.
In my junior season, my times continued to drop drastically as I went undefeated in the 300m hurdles through the 4A-district 2 championships and was the runner up in the 4A Region 1 championships, qualifying for the state championships. I also competed in the 100m hurdles, 4x800 and 4x400 relays, and was a state qualifier in the 4x800m relay. I earned a place on the All-Area 1st Team Track and Field Team.
After a successful rookie track season, I dedicated myself to improving as a runner/athlete and joined the cross-country team as a sophomore. On one of the top girls’ cross-country teams in the state, I earned a place on the all-conference honorable mention team, represented my team in the district meet, and was the first alternate at the regional and state meets. I received a varsity letter and the "Newcomer of the Year" award at the end of the season. My times continued to improve through my junior season, and I made the all-conference team as well as the all-area honorable mention team.
I am excited to continue to grow and achieve my full potential as a student-athlete. I feel that I’m very coachable and possess the dedication and determination to continue to improve my times beyond high school. My goal is to attend a university that offers a top-notch academic program that will provide me with the opportunity to compete athletically at the highest level possible.
