Hi, my name is Kennedy McDonald. I've been running track for five years and I also played soccer for 10 years. My dad is in the military, and this has greatly influenced me as an individual. We move a lot, so I've had to learn how to adapt to different environments and different people. I began to show interest in track when I got frustrated with soccer because I was being singled out by my coach and teammates. Through running track, I have learned that I am very competitive and determined to succeed in everything that I do. I would like to maintain my 4.0+ GPA and graduate the top ten percent of my class. In college I would like to maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA and maybe even graduate at the top of my class to help pursue a career in law or medicine. When I was 10 I was diagnosed with scoliosis. I had to undergo an eight hour spinal fusion surgery. I had to relearn basic things such as walking and I couldn't play any sports for a year. This is taught me to always persevere even if the obstacles seem impossible. I am currently on the debate team at my high school and compete competitively in CX, POI, and Poetry. My time on the debate team has taught me to effectively argue and defend a point of view. With the support of God and family, I know that I will accomplish anything that is set before me.
