I aspire to become a better hurdler on a collegiate level, and hopefully one day in the olympics. Alot of people would say I got a late start seeing as how I began running hurdles my junior year of high school. I have always had a love for track & field, but running hurdles made me fall in love with track. There is a sensation of freedom and courage that I get while running hurdles that I've never experienced before, which is somewhat like rising above all the downfalls I've been through, and finally being able to turn that negativity into something positive. Although I had a late start with hurdles, I am very determined and focused on improving my craft and learning from the best of the best. I believe I would be a good asset to your track & field team, because I am very well- rounded, optimistic, and very coachable. I am open to trying anything that will help me or my teamates. Furthermore, I am very easy to train with, due to my substantial drive to improve myself athletically, academically, and socially. I also have a natural ability to turn any mishap into a lesson, as a result of how I've been raised. My parents have continually shown me that no matter what failures might come my way, if I turn them into a lesson I will always end up fortunate. My mother did not finish college, but she is now a succesful entrepreneur of her own real estate company, as well as working with three other businesses. This has made a huge impact on me now that I am older and more mature, because it has proven to me that despite all odds, if you have enough passion and strength to achieve something, anything is possible. Some aspects that make me different from other recruits is my ubundantly giving charecter and my need to help people achieve their goals. I take great pride in doing community service and helping others, and I believe that those characteristics make me a great teammate, constantly pushing others to do their best, as well as myself.
