I have been in love with the track since my first year of high school, although I've been around it most of my life. The attraction I discovered with running track is that it allows me to control my journey. I have had many obstacles to overcome while starting many new events in my junior year. However, that allowed me to push myself to limits I never thought existed. Oh, and when we talk about accountability and drive, I can definitely say it taught me that too. I currently run the 400m,200m, 4x200m, and the triple jump. Overall, if I had to choose, my main event is 400m; it provides me great excitement knowing that I can run some girls down. But not only that, it challenges me mentally to know when to turn my feet on or put them on cruise control, Lol... Academically, I am a sound student with a 3.0 or higher GPA. Like many of my peers, seeking a good education is my priority, and I will carry my current mindset throughout college. I pray for the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level, which has been my dream for as long as I can remember. Now I haven't given much thought to what will happen after that. But I believe I will make myself, my family, and my coaches proud as I grow and continue to learn.
