Personal Statement

I am looking for a college where I can do track and get a good education.

The first time I ever tried high jump was in 5th grade. My dad was a division one high jumper for Oregon State, and he is one of my coaches. I feel I have worked hard for what I have achieved. 2022 was the first time Hawaii had a state meet that I was old enough to compete in, and I jumped 5’4” which allowed me to place first. Additionally, I placed first in every meet I competed in during my junior year.

Something important to me are the relationships formed with teammates and coaches. I feel it is important to have a good bond with the people you are working with.

Academically, I have an upward progression. In ninth and tenth grade, my gpa was low. However, during my junior year I was able to bring those grades up while taking more challenging courses. My high school is a college preparatory school, and we are pushed to do our best in our classes while encouraged to take classes that challenge us.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
