My name is Anastasia Russell and I'm a hardworking distance runner from Boise, Idaho. I will graduate in the class of 2021. I am the type of athlete who will fight and work for my goals. My most important accomplishments were running 18:04 in the 5k at my state cross country meet and running a 10:20 in the 3k in track. I have served as captain of my track team and I have maintained a 4.0 unweighted GPA.
I am looking for a college with a good balance between academics and running. I would like to attend a college with a prestigious Broadcast Journalism program. Financial aid and scholarships are an important consideration in the selection of colleges. I am willing to consider schools across the country. In my ideal athletic environment, I would be a strong member on the team while also surrounded by teammates who are faster than me and pushing me to improve.
My goals for the rest of high school is to break 5 minutes in the 1600, 11 minutes in the 3200, and 18 minutes in the 5k on a cross country course. My desire is to leave my team knowing that I made a difference in both the success of the team and helping to build a positive and fun culture.
