I started running when I was eight years old. I enjoyed it recreationally until my older brother's first year of high school cross-country. I watched his races and felt so pulled in by the competition. I knew I needed to compete as well and joined the track team the spring of my freshman year. I train hard and am always aware of the example I set for others on my team. It is important to me to earn the respect of my coaches and my teammates.
In addition to running I am a dedicated student I've been home schooled and started taking dual-enrollment classes when I was 15. I currently have a 4.0 in all college classes. I intend to major in Graphic Design and it relaxes me to draw or paint when I'm not studying or running. As a Christian I enjoy church activities whether it is singing in the choir or working as a leader at a local children's ministry. I attended Christian Youth in Action and was a leader in several summer camps. I would like to attend a school that offers an opportunity to grow in my faith through fellowship, bible studies and worship opportunities.
I am a dedicated student and athlete. I will bring a good work ethic to a collegiate running program as well as strong leadership skills. I look forward to working with a coach that can help me reach my potential and be an asset to the team.
