Hi I’m Valerie, in high school I was my coaches go to women because whenever she asked me to do something I would say “If it helps the team I will do it”. My goal for college is exactly that. I want to be able to help my team as much as possible. Wether that means getting points for our team or even helping out a teammate on a class they are struggling with. What makes me a good candidate is my reliability. I can’t promise that on always be #1 but you can rely on me to always be pushing myself to the limit to make sure that I am improving. I think what makes me different from other candidates is my leadership skills. I have been the throwing captain for 3 years, swimming and diving captain for 2 years, and I am also president of the best buddies club. I think I am able to be a leader because I have the heart of a teacher. Growing up I always wanted to be a teacher so even as a student I would always be helping other students in the classroom and this really helped me excel. I think I have a lot to offer your school and can’t wait to be able to be part of your track and field program.
