Personal Statement
In college I look forward to furthering myself both academically and athletically. Growing up in a military family has given me unique opportunities. In my Junior year of high school we moved to Japan. As a result, I was able to compete in cross country and track meets against other Department of Defense schools in Korea and other parts of Japan. I also have been able to compete in a variety of environments. At my high school in Florida, there were many people faster than me and competition at every meet. They motivated me to run faster and gave me a visible goal to run after. Whereas in Japan, I was one of the fastest and learned to use self-motivation to push myself to run faster.
