Personal Statement
My greatest influences in my life have been my parents and my siblings. My parents have always supported me in whatever I have chosen to do, especially when it came to my academics and athletics whether it was school or sports. My siblings have always been goal oriented, high achievers and very focused because once they set their goals, they go after them with vigor and determination. I became interested in running because my parents used to do recreational running for charity, and I ran a few of the kids 5k runs and that sparked my interest. I started to compete in grade 5 when one friends invited me to one of her practices and I loved it. Since then, I have competed on and off. When I started high school, I became more invested in track. Being able to be apart of my school's track and field team for the last 3 years as well as my club has been a great experience for me. I have been blessed to take part in so many meets. I think track and field has helped to shape who I am as a person and who I am as apart of a team. Although track is mostly individual, I think that I could be a great contribution to the team. I think some valuable attributes of myself are: I love to compete, I welcome criticisms, and I have a desire to succeed. In the next year I would like to attend a university where I can be in a program that will allow me to go on to become a forensic pathologist and use my skills to be apart of a life long community. I think that with harder work and coaching, I can go on to become a very good athlete and a great asset to a team.
