Personal Statement
I am definitely different from other recruits in character, athletics and academics. As a child of a military veteran and DoD Education Activity school administrator, I have only attended schools overseas on military bases with a diverse group of friends and teammates. I have been academically challenged by all of my teachers. I continue to maintain a 3.9 or higher GPA. I was born in mainland Japan, I have lived in Korea, mainland Japan, on the island of Okinawa and on the island of Guam. In July, 2016, we moved to Vicenza, Italy, where I attended Vicenza High School. Then, in October, 2016, we moved to Yokota AFB in Japan. I have visited mainland United States every summer since I was 6 months old, but I have never lived in the continental USA. I have been a member of the U14 Guam National Soccer Team as the goalkeeper traveling to Beijing and Hong Kong for two tournaments. I am currently a member of the U18 Guam National Basketball Team and was a member of U15 Guam National Basketball. I recently participated in the Far East LinguaFest in Okinawa (Japan) where my team of Chinese speakers won a gold medal. My main focus is my education. I know that in order to be a well-rounded athlete, I must first be an outstanding scholar. I enjoy science and math, but I love learning anything. I am intense when it comes to sports. I love playing sports and my athleticism just comes naturally. I want to be the best and in order to do that I know I need to practice and watch others who are better than I am so I do spend time watching videos about how to run faster, how to jump higher, how to handle the ball and how to shoot. My diversity makes me a quality candidate for any school. I am grateful that my parents have given me the opportunities to excel in everything I do, to see places that some only dream of seeing and I believe I am going to do great things in this world.
