Personal Statement
I am graduating from St Mary’s University this summer with a Bcs honors in sports rehabilitation.
After graduation I hope to complete a Masters degree in Physiotherapy or Athletic Trainer in the USA, whilst training for athletics. I am a javelin thrower and have been throwing for almost 9 years. In order for me to be able to train, compete and study in the States I would require either a full scholarship or a scholarship that would cover course tuition and accommodation costs, which I hope to acquire through athletics or weightlifting.
I am 21 years old (dob 05/02/1997) weigh around 57kg and I am 5ft 9inches. (175 cms.) tall.
A brief background on my sporting history is as follows:
· For javelin I currently have a competition personal best of 37.83m (124.11ft) and a training personal best of around 43m (141.07ft). This was completed with minimal strength and mainly technical training, due to studies and availability of coaches, etc.
· I also have competed in weightlifting in the 58kg category with my bests lifts being a 40kg(88pounds) Snatch and a 50kg (110pounds)Clean and Jerk. I achieved this with only six months of training.
· In the summer of 2017 I was in Florida on a work experience trip with the Philadelphia Phillies doing Sports Rehabilitation. This helped spark an interest in moving to America as this was the best move for me.
· I am committed to work hard academically and Athletically, with the determination to succeed in both areas.
