Personal Statement
Athletics plays a major part in my life and it has strengthened the foundation on which I base many of my life principles. Hard work, determination and striving to be the best I can be all help me to achieve great results.
I have been competing in track sprinting since I was 11 years old and have been pole vaulting from the age of 15. I became involved in track & field through my Surf Life Saving Club, where I regularly patrol the beach and compete in Surf Carnivals. My strongest events, for surf, have always been on the beach in beach sprints and beach flags and the skills of power and strength have greatly helped me in track & field.
I constantly aim to push myself further so that I can achieve my absolute best and I have been able to achieve some great results so far. I always come to training with a clear and focused mind and always put 100% into everything I do. This does not only apply to my athletics training but also to my school work where I strive to achieve excellent results. I work hard at school and I am committed to managing my time well so that I can maintain high grades and attend all my scheduled training sessions.
My goal is to take my pole vaulting to the highest possible level while also gaining a good education.
