Personal Statement
I come from a small country in Africa, Ghana, where sports are part of our daily lives. As a child growing up in a small village my uncles would set up a small black and white television in our yard and people from different compounds would gather to watch sports on weekends. You would always find me on one of my uncles' laps cheering up the winning team. That excitement grew as I advanced in age. My high school coach found me to be a very fast runner in my first year. Through relentless training I became the best 1500m runner for my school. I have competed in different national competitions and came up first on different occasions. Currently, I am the sports president and the lead athlete for my school. Additionally, I am the goalkeeper for my hockey team. I am humble, very disciplined, readily available when needed, fit for running, and academically good.
I am looking for a college where I would be able to exhibit my 1500m skills, and also be trained to become one of the best in the world.
