Personal Statement
Living in England and Growing up in a fostering family has shaped who i am and my beliefs, from the age of 8 i learned to mature and look after anyone in need. I Fostering has taught me everyone is important and everyone should be treated fairly. I have always introduced the children my family and I have fostered to sport as i believe sporting families(Teams) are the most important ones to be in. From an early age my parents have taught me to always aim for my dreams and to try until i succeed.
When I was 8 i found enjoyment in playing sports at school , my sports teacher noticed my love for athletics and suggested i tried out for the School athletics team , from there my love for athletics grew so much it has become what appears as my life.I have always known sports will be what my life revolves around. I played North England Badminton from the age of 8 and always picked up new sports easily. I played hockey , netball , rounders , tennis , did karate but Athletics has always been the sports made for me. I do however continue to play Field hockey as this is my winter sports which i will always enjoy due to the team spirit , competitive nature and the buzz I get from scoring.
Through playing sports I have learned that I fight for what I want and believe it , I have also learned that being part of a sports team has helped me to accept myself and love everyone. Sports has also made me aware of how caring i am of a person and compassionate to others. My passionate nature also has been learned from sports as I'm always putting my heart into everything I do.
My goals for the end of Sixth form is to achieve my aspiration grades of A's and B's in my chosen subjects of Modern History , Law and Media studies which i will focus on for two years. My chosen degree is Fashion Management and Promotion as I hope one day to be part of the fashion industry and sports fashion industry. I will be a 2018 graduate, I have not been able to take my SATs and ACT yet but will be planning to in the near future.
I have played varsity and been a school track and field team captain.I have also trained with Preston harriers Athletics Club since 2011 and represented the county. In summer season I compete across the country nearly every weekend.
I have a great relationship with my coach , I respect him and take his advice always. Having a good relationship with my coach is a huge part of who i choose to compete for and esent for as I need to have belief in my coach as well as myself.
Visiting America made me realize that to live and continue education in America is my life dream which means i will work more than anything to catch my dream as well as being an athlete.
