Personal Statement
Sports have been a big part of my life from the age of five years old. I was always an active child participating in various sports, but I have always shined in one than all the others and that’s Track n Field, running. As I grew older, track then became not just a sport but a lifestyle for me and I’ve grown to love it. At the age of 9 I started with an official track club and haven’t stopped since.
As a student athlete I have certain goals that I’ve set in place for myself. Going into my college years I see myself at a division 1 school with an amazing reputation and great track times. Competing at a high collegiate level I expect to challenge myself with consistent times, setting new personal records, making national teams, and qualifying in certain events for championships to compete while making my school proud. As I continue to practice and develop my talent, I hope to see the results with improved speed, technique and even endurance so that I can become a better athlete. My main goals for college are to improve in my time and to become a successful businessperson with a degree in law and real estate.
Being an athlete shows me what hard work, commitment and dedication really is and the type of person you are when it comes to the sport. I’ve practiced consistently and put in the work daily and have seen my transitions. I believe that I would be a good candidate for the team because I work with others well and have a team player mentality. I am always open to constructive feedback for my teammates to tell me when I’m doing something wrong so I can correct the mistake and I also encourage others to do their best and to try even when they don’t feel like it. I can bring excitement and put in the best work possible and lead by an example for others.
