Personal Statement

I have been athletic since I was little and that was because of the influence of my parents. My dad plays soccer and is also the president of the Northern Marianas Island Football Association, while my mom plays tennis and is into running. She was also a professional bowler and bowled for the Malaysian National Team. I started playing sports when I was four years old, and I began with soccer. Although I never pursued into the soccer career, that was the beginning of myself being an athlete. I have played soccer, tennis, biked, swam, ran track, cross country, and marathons races. I did pretty well in all those sports, but I always came back to running as my favorite. I have started to fall in love more with running throughout my sophomore year, which is what inspired me to run and become a student athlete in track in college. I have traveled to numerous countries all over the world, and competed in many of them as well, such as Guam and Fiji. Not only do I work hard as being an athlete, but I do well academically in school. I am striving to accomplish my dream of being a student athlete in college for running. Thank you for listening. :)
