Personal Statement
Hi coaches,
I am at present, a student at South Wilts Grammar School in the UK, studying three A levels (Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics). I am also doing a 2-year course at Loughborough College, for a diploma in sporting excellence, and it is for elite candidate UK athletes, who demonstrate the potential to perform at the highest level in their sport. I have been involved in sport for the entirety of my life, starting with gymnastics. Progressing to diving from 2012 - 2016, where I competed at a national level and have also competed internationally in Bulgaria. And now, I compete at a national level in track and field, competing at many regional and national competitions since 2017.

I have also represented my county in long jump for three consecutive years at the New Balance ESAA English Schools' Championships, which is a national competition and the 4th largest athletics event in the world. I have also represented my county at a regional combined events competition (ESAA South West Schools' Combined Events Championships) and have also competed in numerous other combined event competitions, which demonstrates my versatility within my sport. My personal best in long jump is currently 18'1" and my main goal is to improve this personal best.
From competing in numerous sports and team sports (such as netball) I have had a lot of experience working as a team. I also coach a squad of young children diving, which is so rewarding and has enabled me to pick up numerous skills in leadership, teamwork and always encouraging others, with a positive mindset. I also play the piano as a hobby, which requires determination and time practising. I am excited to further pursue my career in athletics and I am determined to continue improving and become a better athlete and a great team member.
Academically, I have achieved a great set of results in my GCSE’s of three 8’s (A*), six 7’s (A) and one 6 (B) and I am currently working to achieve an A and two B’s in my A levels and an A in my extended project qualification (essay) on whether the current state of the UK law surrounding criminal responsibility for medical errors is sufficient, and are people sufficiently protected from medical negligence and malpractice?
