Personal Statement
Greetings, My name is Danalee Brock. I am a student athlete at St. Elizabeth Technical High School in Jamaica. I've represented my school at the Cocoa Western Championship in Jamaica and other development meets. I specialize in the 400mh and the 400m, at the COCAA Western Athletics Championship I obtained a silver medal in the 400mh, and was placed 4th in the 400m. I am also a member of my school's 4x400m team, which I always enjoy running. My aspiration is to make a smooth transition into a university by means of a full athletic scholarship.
I am very competitive, especially up against rivals, but I am also really competitive with myself, for I always want to push myself to my fullest potential, and that is an aspect of my athletics that I pride myself on. I work really well in groups or teams and I enjoy working with my friends/ fellow hurdlers to push each other, but also cheer each other on during races.
While doing sports, it is also a must of mine to keep my grades up. I work really hard in my academics strive to get the best grades I can every class.I am willing to put in the hard work and dedication needed to make it far in this sport, and I also want to not only push myself to go far and do well, but to push my team as well. I believe that I not only have the work-ethic to compete on a college team, but the dedication, character, and leader-ship skills to help make an impact.
