2022 SpotlightPersonal Statement
Hi my name is Ashley Owen and I fell in love with running and track as a whole this past season. Running and competing, as well as pushing myself to new challenges and drills has not only made me a better runner, but also made me stay disciplined in my personal performance on and off the track. Running and competing in sports has always been my favorite outlet and release and my hope to do so in college as well.
I’m also running the Sprint Medley, 4x200, and 4x100 at Drake Relays this weekend. April 29th and 30th!

- First 2-3 were more focused on building strength with good form as well as sprinting on a track and conditioning. The following years were constantly building on that base of good form and technique as well as incorporating acceleration and maintaining top speed into running workouts. Running, jumping, and mobility was the primary focus of there workout. I have gone for the past 6 years averaging 5 days a week in season and out of season training with modifications.

- Once a week session focusing on everything speed related consisting of explosiveness, starts and finishes, form, and maintaining top speed.
