I am looking forward to running track in College where I am scheduled to be a 400/200 specialist at Macalester College in Minnesota. I plan to work just as hard in College as I did in High School. My program will include weights. In High School I mainly focused on drills and plyometrics.
My Senior year of high school was yet another hard year with some drama. Mid-season I had to take 2 weeks off to deal with an IT band issue. Therapy included strengthening of my hips which were unbalanced. I believe this really helped my performance.
Missing 2 weeks left me with 2 meets to prepare for the regional to make to to State. The first meet back I ran a personal best and felt pretty good. The next week I did even better and was ready for regional. At the regional I came through with another 59 in the 400 and made it to the State meet.
I had an ok outing at the State but not a PR. I plan to work hard in college to quickly erase the memory of my 1.00 at my final high school race.
On to bigger and better performances on the track !!!
