Personal Statement
When my dad passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2021, I promised that I would make him proud. The memory of my dad has inspired me to keep running, not only for myself but as a way to carry on his memory. Since then, my passions have led me into mental health advocacy around my school and interning at a lab researching cancer at my local college, the University of Louisville. When I am not running or researching, I also enjoy creative writing and reading.

- Team is from Assumption high school. We placed 1st in the 4x800 for state and 5th for the 4x400 in state. We race in both in state and out of state events where our distance runners compete at a high level. We rarely achieve high track state team places because we focus more on distance than sprinting, and we therefore don't have many sprinting awards.
