Personal Statement

Hello my name is BrentLee Threlkeld. I am a senior at Williamstown Senior High school. I started my track career in the eighth grade, and during that single season,  track became the sport that I love. From the long practices to the early morning meets, to figuring out that track is the sport that I want to pursue. I knew within that first season that I wanted to continue track onto the collegiate level. I set goals for myself every week, every practice and every meet, and I do not stop until I met the goal for the day.  I am a very goal-driven person in all aspects. This sport already has taught me so many lessons.  Even when doing an individual event I know how important it is to be on a team, and be a team player along with a leader. I would not be able to do many things without the support of my fellow teammates, coaching staff, family, and competitors behind me. My academics are just as important to me as my athletics are. I push myself every day in the classroom and on the field to be the best version of myself. I consistently have all A's and B's and am in the top quarter of students in my grade.  I am excited for my future as an athlete in any program!

I plan on graduating high school in 2023 and still being in the top quarter of my classmates, while continuing track. I hope to continue working at the high school level and club level for more training and experience. I plan to major in education or political sciences once I reach college.
