Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Madison Lynch. I am currently enrolled at Chelmsford High School in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.  I am interested in running both Indoor Track and Outdoor Track at the college level. I started running track as a freshman, and now have multiple seasons worth of experience. My events are 400h, 100h, 55h and long jump, but I also run the 200, 300, 400, am a member of relay teams, and have competed in Pentathlon as well. When I started hurdling my freshman year, I fell every single time I tried to race during the indoor season. I had a coach who believed in me and pushed me not to give up, and thanks to my determination, and in partnership with his support, I went from being the worst hurdler on the team to the best one in only one year. My sophomore indoor season I won the Most Improved Player award, lowering my 55h PR by over a second.  I also added a full foot of distance to my long jump.

Although I would be very grateful to be able to run at the college level, I am also incredibly dedicated to my education, and I deeply enjoy learning. I aspire to be a biologist, and I would like to do conservation work in Africa. I have taken honors level core classes the entire time I have been in high school and take AP classes as well while balancing time with three sports a year.  I am highly driven in the classroom and on the track. I love the outdoors and I enjoy spending time around animals.  I am a very ambitious person, and I think the opportunities of college both in the classroom and on the track will challenge me to continue to grow. Please feel free to reach out if you want to know more!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
