Last year, I decided to give running a try at my school's Track and Field team conditioning and tryouts. I had no prior track experience and went in with an open mind and ended up loving it. Once I find something that I am passionate about, it becomes a huge part of me and I consistently work hard to be the best that I can be. I am always looking for opportunities to grow and become better. I am a dedicated, hard worker, and I hope to continue to excel in track and field and learn so much more about the sport.
I'm also a very dedicated student. I plan to study communications and media in college, hoping to be a news anchor one day. I have always loved reading and writing, and this past year I have grown an interest in camera and television work. In college, I hope to gain internship opportunities or be a part of a locally run newspaper or television program!
I hope that recruiters can see how excited and willing to work I am. I will prioritize my sport, not because I feel like I have to, but because I genuinely enjoy it. After being in competitive dance for the past 10 years, running was new and fresh. I find so much joy in running. The personal satisfaction in beating your PR and being so happy for everyone else when they accomplish something big is so rewarding. Even though it's a competitive sport, it feels like a community and wherever I decide to go I hope to take advantage and be able to grow and flourish with my future team like I have this past year with my high school team.
