Emma Stewart '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi I am Emma Stewart. I will be a graduate from Salem High School in 2023.  I am a multiple sport varsity athlete in Track and Field and Gymnastics.

My sophomore year was my first high school track season and I was mainly focused on long jump and pole vault, but also competed in high jump, sprints and relays. This season I also began competing in the 100m hurdles and I was first in our region until an injury took me out. I am open to trying any event my coaches decide to put me into, as long as I am competing I am happy. 

I was a club gymnast for 10 years, then decided to join my high school team. During my first season I qualified for states as an all around gymnast. I placed 2nd on bars, 5th on vault and, 7th all around, as well as my team placing 5th. I would love to compete in either of these sports in college. 

I have learned many life skills from both these sports. I know how to show up and give my all. I am very determined and once I set my mind to doing something, I put in the work to get there. I have very high expectations for myself, but these expectations keep me working and pushing towards the goals I hope to achieve. 

I also work very hard on my academics and am an A-B student. Maintaining these grades through multiple sports seasons has taught me how to manage my time well.
