My name is Alicia Gillean and I am a 400 and 200 meter runner. I've been running track since I was in sixth grade and I have been on Monroe High School's varsity team since I was a freshman. I qualified for states in the 400 meter dash my sophomore year of high school, but I was not able to make a repeat visit to the state meet as a junior due to an injury during the middle of the season. My PR in the 400 meter dash is 59.64 and my 200 PR is 27.66. My GPA is 3.356 and I got a 25 on my ACT.
Running at the collegiate level is something that I have wanted since a young age, and I am looking for a college where I can pursue a degree for becoming a physical therapist, and a minor degree in Spanish language and literature; Also, a place where I can make an immediate impact on the team is something that I would really like. Financial assistance will be important in my college choice due to my family’s financial situation; I’d prefer to go to a smaller school close to a major city somewhere in the Midwest.
