Hi my name is Megan Large and I will be a senior at Novi High School. I have competed in the sport of gymnastics for about 13 years and and I played soccer for a few years when I was younger as well. I was part of the founding gymnastics team and was appointed as team captain my junior year and I will continue to be captain throughout senior year. I started pole vaulting my freshman year (2019) and I won Freshman Oakland Counties with a height of 8'6". I continued to do off season competitions throughout the summer and fall and earned an official PR of 9' within my first year of joining the sport. Unfortunately, that was my last official PR due to COVID-19 and injury from gymnastics. Going into my junior year season, I was jumping at about 10'6 -11' but an ankle injury took me out of competition. Even though I could not compete, or even run, I still went to as many practices as I could and I went to almost every meet. I was even asked to help coach at a meet that my coach could not make. Even though I haven't necessarily done pole vault for a while, I have found a deep appreciation for the sport and I would love to have the opportunity to continue it in college.
