Hi, I'm Kayla Faust! I am a senior in high school and captain of the girls track team. In school I participate in 3 clubs, have taken AP classes throughout all four years, and I am dual enrolled in my local community college obtaining college credits. My goal is to attend college to go into sports medicine and to continue to run track while in college. Before joining track my sophomore year, I was a gymnast for 12+ years. Being a gymnast taught me the importance of training and conditioning, working hard and not giving up. In my first season of track as a sophomore, I realized how much I love the competitive nature of the sport and it led me to securing a spot in the school’s top ten 200m records. I had to overcome a major challenge mid-track season in my Junior year when I had to undergo surgery, but I worked extremely hard which put me ahead of my recovery schedule. I’ve been surrounded by great coaches, mentors and doctors which has inspired me to pursue my goals.
