I love to compete and eager to continue my studies at the next level. I am searching for a program that will be a good fit for me academically and athletically. Cross Country and Track have taught me that to strive and persist, hard work is the foundation in order to do so. I have lived with Dyslexia and it has influenced my life for better and for worse. It has taught me, that when faced with challenging obstacles academically and athletically to strive to overcome them. My resolve for life has strengthened; rarely has anything in my life come easy to me. Over this past year I learned the importance of dedication and commitment and how far it could take me if adherence continued.
Running 19:43 at the Greater Lansing Invitational meet as a junior was an exhilarating experience. Coming in 12th place when in years past I did not have the privilege of standing with the top finishers was an honor. My sophomore year was the year I did not make it to State Finals individually nor as a team. I believe that experience opened my eyes, I grew as a student athlete and as a person; learning from my mistakes I saw the areas to strengthen. Confidence has always been hard, yet learning to believe in myself, having the strength to prevail, and team work changed my running experience for the better. Mental toughness is key; it is trying, requiring monumental strength, but I have it. I have the dedication, commitment, character, and teamwork to run at the collegiate level.
