Earning my varsity letter my first season of ever doing track was one of the highlights of my high school career. However I feel like I grew the most as a student-athlete and more importantly as a person when I didn't make it to state. That experience taught me that you can't always win and everyone has a bad day. That day pushed me to be to PR and become top in my conference in high jump. All year long I got to camps and practices for high jump and pole vault so I can focus on improving mentally and physically.
I am fortunate to have great coaches that push me to my limits, which helped me earn 6 first places for high jump two second place and two 3rd places. Along with two first place for pole vault and two second and two third. Throughout my first season of track (2018) I learned the value of teamwork, like when my team is a relay and we all have o work together to not drop the baton and we have to all push each other to go as fast as we can. I learned the value of work ethic, because if you don't go to every practice and try your hardest at every practice it sets you up for failure. I also had to be a leader at many times and step up and tell my teammates to have better attitude and to try their hardest. I believe that I could be a great leader on your team as well!
