I believe what makes me a good candidate to be a Division I track and field athlete is that I am competitive, strong and athletic. Because I’m a three sport athlete, I have not focused all of my energy on one sport as many high school athletes do and therefore I believe I still have a lot of room to improve. Im used to competing at a high level, our hockey team has gone to the state tournament the last two years, my soccer team is one of the top teams in our section, and I’ve individually made it to the state track and field meet twice. I’m looking forward to competing at the collegiate level where I can focus all of my attention on track and field, and find out how good I can get.
My dad has really helped shape me into the athlete that I am today. He is constantly preaching how a strong work-ethic can get you anywhere, and that has taught me so much, not only in sports, but life in general.
I had a back injury my freshman and sophomore year, which lead me to appreciate every minute of being able to do what I love!!
