My name is Emma Claire James and I am a junior attending West Lauderdale High School in Collinsville, Mississippi.
I first started running when I was 11 years old. My dad always brought my brothers with him to go run and I eventually started running with them. I ran recreationally until October of 2016. During that October, transitioned from homeschooling to West Lauderdale High School as a freshman and I haven’t looked back since. In addition to running, I value keeping up my grades very highly. I plan to major in biology or kinesiology in college.
Outside of school, I attend social service activities as well as school activities. I am a member of North Point Presbyterian Church and am an active youth group member at my church. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends, reading, and going to get coffee with my little brother.
Running has become such a monumental part of my life. I have absolutely fallen in love with the sport. My dream is to run on a competitive collegiate team that will push me to be the best runner (and person) I can possibly be. Not only do I want to be a part of a team that will push me as an athlete, but I also want a team that runs for God by putting Him first and doing everything to glorify Him.
I am very determined and tenacious when I set my mind to something and I love seeing the results of hard work. I love being able to help others and connect with them. Overall, I am eager to meet my team & coach that I can work hard with during my college career.
