I have been an athlete all my life and love competition. Learning pole vault for the first time this year was exciting because my strength, coachability, and ability to learn quickly allowed me to become the state champion and record holder in class 1. - AwardsJefferson Moore Award- This award honors the memory of Jefferson Moore, son of CIS Latin teacher and founding CIS faculty member Sue Ann Moore. The award recognizes a student who demonstrates a generosity of spirit at CIS, as well as in the community at large. The recipient of this award displays sensitivity to the needs of others and is accepting and inclusive of all. This award is open to all CIS students currently enrolled in grades 9-12. The CIS Upper School faculty selects the recipient, Scholar Athlete Award- CIS Scholar Athlete Award recognizes a student that exemplifies the mission statement within our sports program. The student should participate in all possible seasons, encourage and lead teammates, exhibit good sportsmanship and be able to strike a balance between athletic & academic responsibilities, Women Intersport Network- Finalist -Nominated by her school Athletic Director/Soccer Coach and selected by the board of WIN as a finalist for the WIN for Columbia.
