Personal Statement

As a freshman I was on varsity, running the 4x4 at state, I made a couple mistakes, which motivated me to do even better my sophomore year. I worked out everyday, even went home after practice and worked out. My coach didn't believe in me and I knew that because I went to state as an alternate in the 4x2. So my junior year came and I strive to be even better then my past two years and it worked. I became interested in track in 6th grade, I think after doing the shuttle run (in 5th grade) people said I was fast so I decided to go out for the middle school track team. I've learned that you can't quit when things get tough, that's what makes you tougher. I can get through anything, nothing is impossible. My academic goals for high school is to score higher on my ACT and maintain at least a 3.0. My goals for college is to further my track career & major in elementary education.. I've had to overcome many obstacles to get where I am. When I sprained my ankle I thought I wouldn't be able to ever run, because I didn't walk for a week. I've also strained my hamstring multiple times and I would always have hamstring problems no matter what. I am a hardworking, easily coachable athlete that loves to win. My work ethic is shown in the classroom as well as on the track. I am goal oriented and I push myself to attain my goals. I listen to directions and apply instructions to improve my sprinting technique. My good character is demonstrated whether I win or lose. I take every competition as a learning experience no matter the outcome.
