My name is Hope Sinclair and I am an incoming Senior at Winnacunnet High School. Since I was in Middle School I always could remember having a strong love for running. I began my career with Girls on the run in Elementary School, then continued on my career in Cross Country in Middle School. During those practices I realized the one thing I looked forward to was sprinting. No matter what, I loved running in mini sprinting races against my teammates, the competition made me happy. From Middle School on I have continued on with my career in Track and have continued to train hard and achieve incredible goals. When it comes to goal setting in track, I tend to focus on one or two events that I know I can continue to improve in. Surprisingly after doing cross country, I have decided to stick with short distance/ sprinting events. My two main events are the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. I like to set PR goals that I know I can accomplish for the season with my hard training. My goals for my junior year of spring track were to get sub 29 in the 200m and sub 13 in the 100m. By setting my mind to it each meet I attended to, I continued to cut both of my times down. I had qualified for the Girls Divisionals, where I ran 4 events and Prd in 3 of them. The track environment overall is a very happy place for me, its a place for me to stay positive and encourage others. I believe I am a good candidate because of my love for the sport. I like to continue to strive everyday to be a better athlete and to reflect on others in a positive way for this wonderful and exhilarating sport. Ultimately my goal is to just be an overall better athlete and to continue to pursue this sport that I love.
