Joining the Track and Field my freshman year, was the start of one of the biggest influences I've had throughout my high school career. I started Track and Field at the end of my freshman year to stay in shape for competitive swimming, however, it sparked a passion and drive that I'd never had before. Sophomore year, I made the tough decision of competing for the indoor track team rather than the competitive swim team.
Since that decision, my love for the sport has only grown. I improved immensely from my outdoor freshman season to both of my sophomore seasons. Sadly, my junior seasons were cut short due to injury and Covid-19. Due to all the set backs, it inspired me to work harder. Over the past few months, I have performed multiple time trials, improving my 100m, 200m, and 55m dash times.
I’m always striving to be the best athlete possible, not always on the track specifically. I’m constantly pushing my self to perform better in the weight room, and putting in the time and effort to create the best possible version of myself; athletically and academically.
Currently, I am still weight training and improving my strength in the off-season, as well as training for long jump (an event I have never competed in before). My goal is to improve my strength during the off-season, some of my maxes for weight lifting include: 225x1 squat, 245x1 deadlift, and 140x1 bench press. Overall, I am looking to be the best version of myself.
