Dear prospective coaches,
I fell in love with cross country and track as soon as I began to compete freshman year. The immense amount of support my teammates, and even competitors, all give each other is unlike any other sport. My teammates are some of my closest friends, and I've even become friends with some of my competitors because we all understand and appreciate the hard work we put into distance running. I love the team atmosphere. At almost every meet, even if I’m not racing, I’ll cheer all of my teammates on and stay after my race to see everyone else race too.
Cross country, indoor and outdoor track have made me into a better person. Since freshman year, my love of racing has inspired me to strive continuously to improve my times and become a stronger runner, whether that be through keeping up with my mileage, pushing myself in workouts, consistently completing core workouts or weight lifting each week. I've developed a more determined mindset, which allows me to be disciplined in my training every day.
I've learned how to work hard in every aspect of my high school years through balancing my intense training schedule with my rigorous academics. Juggling my passions has helped me lead by example and show that if you work hard enough and stay committed to training, it pays off. Now that I am a captain of the Colts Neck Girl's Cross Country and Track teams, I will try the best I can to help and support my teammates, while leading the team throughout the year. I want to do as much as I can to leave a positive impact on my teammates in order to help our team succeed this year.
