My name is Brianna Braver and I am a junior at Ramapo High School, where I run cross country, winter track, and spring track. I joined the cross country team in the fall of my freshman year having never competed prior. Previously, I played travel softball and travel basketball. During my freshman year, I ran cross country at the suggestion of my family and friends. I then played basketball in the winter season and had plans to play softball in the spring, but Covid shut all sports down. Realizing the success I had from cross country, I decided to commit to running all 3 seasons as a mid-distance runner. Additionally, I had the opportunity to play on my Ramapo High School’s inaugural Girls Flag Football Club while also running track during the spring of my sophomore year. The double workouts of flag football and track allowed me to meet new people, and escape the confinement of the Covid virtual at-home learning. Now that we are back in person in school, I am happy to continue to be committed to 3 seasons of running.
My goal in college is to compete at a top academic school that can offer me the opportunities to succeed on the track and in the classroom. I am sure that my positive attitude and hard-working mindset will contribute to any team of which I am a member.
