Since 2006, from the age of five, enjoying having been a part of USA competitive gymnastics, practicing 20+ hours a week after school, I, then, introduced Track and Field into my world during my seventh grade year, beginning with 100 m, the 4 by 100 and consequently, to the long jump, making 11ft. In the spring of 2017, my freshman year, I began to Pole Vault and felt incredibly invigorated, pleased I was able to balance USAG level 8 gymnastics, weekend competitions, Spring Track and the Honors classes I'd taken that year. Continuing this path through Sophomore year and adding Winter Track and Field to my eleventh-grade roster of sports. One great aspect of being a competitive athlete is that I have learned to manage my time between academics, sports, family, my religious education, a job and time spent with friends all while maintaining a high-grade point average. I believe my successes and failures are a true attribute to my character. My knowledge from gymnastics has easily allowed me to understand the mechanics of pole vault, including the lift, speed and the strength that it takes to clear the bar. My goals regarding collegiate athletics consist of receiving the best education geared toward my life career while being able to compete at a sport that I thoroughly enjoy, dedicated to and fully confident in improving upon with exceptional coaching. Pole Vaulting has been rewarding in ways that exceed gymnastics. Similarly, Pole Vault is an individual sport, Team-based, requires complete commitment and an understanding of technique. A huge difference I've noticed is that the majority of my friends were always my "gym" friend's, established solely through gymnastics and the friends I have made now is through high school sports.
