I am grateful for many things. I am grateful for my coaches and teachers. I am grateful for my friends. I am grateful for my family. I am grateful that all these people have helped me get to where I am today...but I'm not even close to where I want to be.
Here is what gets my motor running...
I love to compete
I was a solid junior golfer and a competitive gymnast, but decided to focus my energy on pole vault when I started to clear heights that surprised my parents and coaches. I am so excited to work hard during the off-season to accomplish new PR's. My goal is to clear over 12' in the next 6 months. Although pole vault is an individual sport, I love being part of a team and enjoy running around the track cheering for my 4x100 teammates as much as I enjoy sprinting down the runway towards the box.
I love to create
I spend my downtime drawing or painting random things...I have found this helps me relax and recharge my batteries. Not only is my dad's office filled with my artwork, but my pottery and cupcakes are regular gifts to my grandparents and cousins during the holidays.
I love to care
I am proud of all my accomplishments in 4-H, including being president of the "Just Kidding Goat Club" for the past 2 years and winning the prestigious Jr. Showmanship Award at the Somerset County Fair in 2016. I have raised two goats since they were born 6 years ago and am proud to show them to anyone who is willing to see them. I have also helped raise over 60 chickens and all of them have names.
I love to travel
Over the past 12-18 months, I traveled to Pennsylvania, New York, California, Kansas, Arizona, Virginia, and Nevada to compete in Pole Vault. I also visited Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Wyoming and Italy.
It is my dream to be a student-athlete at the collegiate level. I believe my broad background and experiences would help me become an asset to your track and field program.
