In the year of 2022, I was able to really flourish in track and discover my passion and athletic ability in track and field, especially hurdling. I only started practicing track at the beginning of the year and saw great success in a very short amount of time, even earning Second Team All-Conference in the spring. For example, in 100 hurdles I had a quick 1 week transition from 4 step to 3 step leading to a 1.1 second decrease in time achieving 16.54 seconds. Unfortunately, that was my last meet of the season, leaving me no opportunity to improve my 100 hurdle time while three stepping. I’m looking forward for next season to see my improvement once I become even more comfortable with three stepping. Also, for 400 hurdles, I was supposed to be only an alternate but ended up going to NJSIAA Group Championships due to my immense growth throughout my Spring Track season. This points to my growth potential and to my natural abilities in running track and learning quickly. Being ranked 6th all time in school history for 100m hurdle my plan for next season will be to decrease my time by at least 1 one more second (3 stepping will become even more natural) and break the all time record for my school.
