Samantha Spallanzani '16 Recruiting Profile

    If I had to describe myself in one word, it would be driven. I am driven to succeed academically and I am driven to succeed athletically. It's what makes me, me. Academically, I am in the top of my class, I have a 4.1 GPA, and I like to challenge myself by taking the most demanding classes offered to me.  I have taken honors classes for the past three years, and I anticipate taking honors and AP classes in the upcoming year.
   Athletically, I have been a three-year varsity track and field athlete, as well as a three-year high school soccer player. Over the last few years, I have realized that my passion is track, so I have decided to pursue track and field at the next level, and forgo soccer. As a freshman on the varsity track and field team, I became one of the top sprinters and long jumpers and I qualified for states in multiple events. I continued my success as a sophomore by improving my personal records and competing at states, as well as the Meet of Champions. As a junior, I hope to continue my success and keep improving on the track, as well as in the classroom.
    As I approach my senior year, I have begun to think about what I want my college experience to be like. The type of college I am looking for is one with a campus, as well as a life beyond it. I hope to stay somewhere along or close to the East Coast. I am hoping that my college experience is one that I will remember for the rest of my life and I believe that running track will be a key factor in enhancing my experience.
