Running has always been more than just a sport to me; it makes me happy, has taught me to be resilient, and supported my personal growth. It has challenged me and has brought incredible people into my life.
Since my freshman year, I have competed at the varsity level in cross country and track. I’m proud to have contributed to my team’s success, helping us secure our group state championship, the first Meet of Champions title, and the Nike Northeast Champion runner-up spot in my freshman year. Last year, we defended those titles, won the Nike Northeast region, and placed 10th at Nike Cross Nationals. This year, I achieved a personal record of 18:30.62, and I am eager to continue improving.
My official track PRs are 2:22 in the 800m, 5:09 in the 1600m, and 11:03 in the 3200m. I faced challenges last winter and spring due to growth plate inflammation that sidelined me for much of the season. I’m looking forward to a healthy season to showcase my full potential.
Academically, I have maintained a 4.172 cumulative GPA while taking an accelerated course load. I actively participate in several clubs and serve as a student ambassador and big sister, where I guide prospective students through their transition to Union Catholic. Balancing a substantial commute with my responsibilities has sharpened my time management skills, and I take pride in how I’ve managed to enjoy my high school experience while excelling in academics, athletics, and extracurriculars.
I am excited to take the next step in my running career and find a college program that values both academic and athletic excellence. I am confident that my passion for running, strong work ethic, and determination will help me thrive in a competitive environment. I look forward to contributing to the team and the school community while continuing my journey of growth.
