Personal Statement

I come from a very athletic background as a year-round USAG competitive gymnast and club soccer player; so when I transitioned into high school my Freshman year, I became a three-sport varsity athlete in Soccer, Wrestling, and Track (Captain as a Sophomore for both Wrestling and Track). As an important member of my high school track team, I'm often found racing around back and forth during track meets. My favorite thing about Track & Field is that it isn’t just one sole sport, but several opportunities that lay behind one title. I am always participating in multiple events; even stepping up for my team when I am needed in relays. Despite my events consisting mainly of jumps; such as Long, Triple, High, and 100H, I've also competed in 400H, JAV, Shot-put, 200m, 800m, 4x100, and the 4x400, in preparation for a Heptathlon. I'm a very versatile athlete who is always looking for the next challenge and way to progress. My coaches describe me as a coachable athlete with strong leadership qualities. As a Sophomore, I was named one of the team Captains, and with this position, I am advocating for a school Winter Track team– something that our program has yet to offer. With only one season of competitive track available, I can only imagine just how much more I would be able to accomplish with your guidance! Although I take my athletics very seriously, I am an extremely motivated student who’s determined to excel when it comes to my academic accomplishments and aspirations. I'm searching for a university where I can obtain a prestigious education in both the classroom and on the track, in hopes of pursuing an exciting and successful career in biomedical engineering.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
