Clesa Deane '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Clesa Deane and I want to run on a collegiate level in track & field. I am very coachable and will do and achieve anything asked of me in practice and/or in class.  I always aim to improve. I am self-driven, hard-working, and devoted in the classroom and on the track. I am an honors student that has taken AP classes and college classes. I joined the track & field team starting my freshman year of high school at John Dewey High School. I took an interest in track when I decided to do an after school activity and saw track flyers all around my school. I went to one meet and quickly felt unity with my teammates and I had a lot of fun in the sport. I became determined and worked tirelessly to become better, stronger, and faster. From my first 400m to my last I took off 18 seconds and hope to take off 18+ more with proper training and development. Track has taught me that hard work comes with great outcomes and has prepared me for disappointment, failure, and success.  I am self-driven, hard-working, and devoted in the classroom and on the track
