Free, powerful, focused... That's how I feel when I run and do sports in general (I love soccer too!).
I am in 11th grade, and I want to work in the field of sports medicine. I would like to be an orthopedic surgeon. I applied to the New Vision Medical program and I hope to get picked! I would spend my afternoons in 12th grade shadowing and working in a hospital!
I also run relays and played varsity soccer: being part of a team helps me further develop skills, such as leadership and humility, compassion and taking responsibility.
My Sophomore year I joined XC and won sectionals , as well as placed 12th at the NY State meet! In Indoors (Winter of 2019), I won the 600, 1000 and 1500-meter race Sectional title, and qualified for States in the 1000 (finished 20th). I enjoyed the competition a lot. I am definitely disappointed in the fact that the coronavirus is impacting us young athletes, as I was excited about the outdoors season.
Indoors in 2021 was very limited for our school, and running was all we are allowed to do. But I made First Team - All Greater Rochester, and winning all my races (600, 1,000 and 1,500), I am both a triple Wayne Finger Lakes and triple Section V champion.
As soon as I turned 16, I joined my local fire department as a volunteer and have since learned so many new life and leadership skills that not only benefit myself , but my community at the same time ! I am fluent in French, learning Spanish, and have traveled the Americas, hiked in Nepal, visited amazing countries in Europe and Africa.
In April 2019, I received the Ontario County Youth Award, which "acknowledges youth for the good citizenship, positive influence, fortitude, and leadership which they have exhibited in their school and community". I was really happy!
In June 2019, I finished 16th in the long jump at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor competition.
I still have so much to learn about track and field and I am excited about continually growing and getting better physically and mentally.
